The sixth annual Porcupine Mountains Music Festival will take place August 27 (Friday), 28 (Saturday), and 29 (Sunday) at the Ski Hill and Chalet Area in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Ontonagon County located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The festival will feature folk, blues, bluegrass and contemporary music from top-class nationally touring artists as well as up and coming Michigan artists. 1250 people per day will get to hear the more than 25 artists who will appear on our outdoor stages. This presentation is supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, General Mills Foundation, and Land O’Lakes Foundation.

Arts & Crafts Fair, August 16, 2009 the third Sunday in August, featuring hand-crafted arts & crafts, music, and food. Enjoy cinnamon rolls and coffee cooked on the old cook stove.

At the Old Victoria Restoration Site near Rockland, see the hand-hewn log cabins built nearly 100 years ago to serve as housing for the miners at the Victoria Copper Mine. Hear of the hardships endured by these pioneers of the Copper Rush. Feel the romance of this place which time cannot change. Victoria is as it was, and you are free to reach out and touch the past at Old Victoria, a unique restoration project significant to the history of the Copper Country.
