Two year-round rental homes in Silver City, Michigan, 1 mile and 5 miles the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. The Cabin Up North is a log home nestled on 3.5 acres on the pristine shoreline of Lake Superior with 1000 feet of private beach. This beautiful log cabin has 3 bedrooms and two baths and sleeps up to 8 guests. Two bedrooms are on the main level with a bath in between. One bedroom has a queen and a full sized bed, and the other bedroom has a full sized bed and access to the deck that overlooks Lake Superior. The Cottage Up North (1 mile east of the Porucpine Mountains State Park) is a three-bedroom cottage on the shores of Lake Superior . The Cottage Up North has 3 levels built into a hillside and overlooking Lake Superior. The main level contains a large bedroom with a wood burning fieldstone fireplace, full bathroom, and a large living room with satellite TV. It will comfortably sleep up to 10 guests, has 2,900 square feet of living area, and has 330′ of frontage on Lake Superior offering a spectacular view of the lake, the Porcupine Mountains, and outstanding sunsets.

Victoria Cabin is a vacation getaway set in the heart of the Western UP. It features a full kitchen, two bedrooms, one and 1Ž2 baths, washer/dryer, DVD/VCR, and satellite TV. Victoria Cabin has two double beds and three twin/double bunk bed sets, easily accommodating from 8 to 12 adults. Situated four miles from Rockland, Michigan, Victoria Cabin is located within the historic copper mining town of Victoria. Located right off trail 13, Victoria Cabin is a snowmobiler’s haven. Trail 13 is part of the snowmobile trail system that weaves throughout the Western Upper Peninsula. Porcupine Mountain State Park is located 30 miles from Victoria. Here, visitors can experience downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowboarding. For guests seeking warm weather activities, the area surrounding Victoria offers hiking with access to the North Country Trail, located 1Ž2 mile from the cabin; summertime berry picking, with the wild Michigan thimbleberry and black raspberry patches that grow throughout the forest; and off-road recreation, with access to ORV trails minutes away.

Underground mine tours of the historic Adventure Copper Mine provide visitors to Michigan’s Copper Country an experience that will not soon be forgotten. Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park (60,000 acres) is one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. Towering virgin timber, secluded lakes, and miles of wild rivers and streams make a visit to the “Porkies” a trip to remember. Black bears are common in the Porkies

Areas of attraction within the Porkies include Lake of the Clouds (ADA accessible viewing area), Summit Peak observation tower, and the scenic Presque Isle River corridor which hosts the states second largest waterfalls.

The Friends of the Porkies is a nonprofit organization that represents the interests of all users of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. The Park has a breathtaking 60,000 acres of natural beauty located in Ontonagon County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
